ITINERARY

  • DAY 1: ROME upon arrival private transfer to your hotel for check. Full day at disposal for the initial discovery of the Eternal city. You have a 48 hours hop op hop off ticket that allows you to explore the city. Board your double deck bus. The view from the top will let you enjoy the crazy roman traffic from above. Make a full tour at the beginning to have an idea of the city then decide where you want to stop. Just remember to stop at Piazza Santa Maria Maggiore to get the real Italian Gelato at Gelateria Santa Maria Maggiore located in Via Cavour. This Ice cream shop is one of the best in town and in business since 1909. From the Gelateria take left on via Santa Maria Maggiore and get in the middle of Monti district the most fashionable place to be in Rome. Monti is not only the oldest part of Rome, the ancient Suburra of the Roman time, but it is now a free traffic area with nice unique shops and the most trendy restaurants and bars in town. You can have a full meal in one of the many restaurants or just take a "pizzetta" an authentic delicatessen for only 3.50 euros (via Urbana) or get an amazing plate of homemade pasta cooked in front of you with the sauce you prefer in via del Boschetto. For a full Italian meal or a large Pizza Margherita (it is free on your package!) or focaccia don't forget to stop at Ristorante Strega they have a wonderful place to eat outside and they offer the best unusual tiramisu !
  • DAY 2: Rome: after breakfast is time for your tour to Coliseum and the Gymnasium of the Gladiators with with our smart, amusing and professional guides and within our small group of people. Only this tour will lead you back in the time when Rome Empire was at its most spectacular splendour. Firstly, an archaeological guide will lead the explorers inside of what once was the business center of the Roman Empire, the Roman Forum. A few steps beyond they will enter the Colosseum, the largest imposing amphitheater ever built by the Romans. After an inside visit of the Colosseum's tunnels and tiers, the guide will take them just behind the Colosseum area, where it is possible to admire the Ludus Magnus, the largest gladiators gymnasium of the city. Here it will be possible to learn how simple slaves and warriors used to turn into gladiators. This three-layer complex was perfect for training before the big shows would take place. The tour ends at the foot of the gladiator gymnasium, but the tickets will also be valid to enter to the Palatine hill
  • DAY 3: Rome: so many things to see! We will treat you with another very special private tour.. the discovery of the Caracalla Baths, a journey through time to discover the "Terme di Caracalla" as they were in 216 AD, at the time of their inauguration.   • DAY 4: Rome another full day in the Eternal city where for sure we can spend months maybe years before we are done with all the discoveries! We offer many optional tours private or regular. And if this time you cannot extend your stay to the South of Italy ask our reservation agents about our small group tour to Ostia Antica -- a small replica of the ruins of Pompeii
  • DAY 5: Florence After breakfast it is time to board your high speed train. On arrival check in at hotel . Time on your own to stroll around the city . Enjoy your gelato at Vivoli, the most famous ice cream parlor in Florence!
  • DAY 6: Florence : After breakfast departure for your full day tour to SIENA, SAN GIMIGNANO & CHIANTI Experience a wonderful day in Tuscany countryside, admiring the most suggestive corners of Siena, San Gimignano, the Chianti area and try the unique flavor of local wines. Departing from Florence, our tour will start in Monteriggioni, well known worldwide for its wine and its countryside of unrivalled charm. We’ll continue then to Siena, where our local guide will lead you through its steep medieval streets, admiring the splendid palaces until we'll reach the Cathedral (interior), Palazzo Comunale (Municipal Building) and Piazza del Campo where the Palio race takes place every year. Then free time for lunch and shopping. We'll continue to San Gimignano, one of the most fascinating examples of medieval towns, declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco; free time to discover the town. Before departing you'll taste the best ice cream in the world that won the last two editions of the Ice Cream World Championship.Finally we’ll stop in a farm house, where you’ll taste some of the best Tuscan wines with a little snack of sliced cold meats, bruschetta and cheese. Return to Florence in the late afternoon.
  • DAY 7: Florence : Today another "unique" tour The Opera del Duomo await you. Over 750 works for 720 years of history The greatest concentration of Florentine monumental sculpture in the world: statues and medieval and Renaissance reliefs in marble, bronze and silver of the greatest artists of the time. Masterpieces that, in most cases, were made for the exteriors and interiors of the ecclesiastical structures that still stand before the Museum: the Baptistery of San Giovanni , the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and Giotto's Bell Tower .The particular mission of the Museo dell'Opera is in fact to adequately present the works done for these buildings, which together constitute what today is called the "Great Museum of the Duomo".The tour of the Museo dell'Opera del Duomo ends with the exit on a panoramic terrace overlooking the Brunelleschi's dome from a very unusual point of view.   • DAY 8: Florence FLORENCE WITH KIDS: DISCOVER THE CITY THROUGH ANECTODES, LEGENDS AND TRUE STRORIESFinally a perfect tour to discover the city in an engaging and original way, with a passionate and specialized local guide, able to fascinate kids and young people through stories, anecdotes and legends, while adults will appreciate the historical and artistic aspect of Florence along a route that touches all the landmarks of the old center. It is a pleasant stroll starting from Piazza della Repubblica, the "belly button" of Florence, where children will be amazed by the discovery of the old system of the Roman city from which began the history of Florence. We continue then to the ancient and colorful Straw Market where you and your kids will have the opportunity to caress the shiny nose of the famous "Piglet" the most popular, photographed and "lucky" statue of the city. You can admire the view over the Arno river crossed by the picturesque Ponte Vecchio, with its typical glittering jewelry shops, before reaching Piazza della Signoria, the political center of the city dominated by the famous Palazzo Vecchio and, while adults will enjoy the wonders of a true "outdoor museum" the kids will be captivated by stories of secret passages, vanished churches, navigators and great artists. We then proceed to the neighborhood of Dante Alighieri, along the same streets where the "great poet" met his beloved Beatrice, fascinated by their romance and absorbed by the magic of the medieval center where children, unexpectedly, will also meet Pinocchio, the most famous "wooden puppet" in the world. Don’t let your kids miss the opportunity to take a nice souvenir photo with him! A refreshing and mouth-watering stop at an historical ice-cream shop will follow: here participants will be able to taste a real homemade “gelato”, produced with delicious, organic ingredients. We finally reach the religious center of the city where, besides admiring the great cathedral with the famous Brunelleschi's Dome, the Baptistery with the wonderful "Door of Paradise "and the elegant Bell Tower, you will be told stories of bizarre creatures, magical plants, astonishing animals and other wonders.
  • DAY 9: Venice After breakfast your fast train will take in a little more than an hour to Venice. For Kids the ride onboard of the vaporetto (ferry) is an adventure on itself.! In the afternoon we have scheduled for you A WALKING TOUR OF THE CITY
  • DAY 10: VENICE: Today the kids will learn to CREATE THEIR OWN VENITIAN MASQUE ! a Venetian Master Artisan will explain you the ancient technique of making a Venetian papier-mâché mask providing information about the use of masks in Venice during past centuries. At the end of the course you will keep the mask as a very special souvenir to bring back home.
